All of our intarsia is handcrafted in the USA using the finest hardwoods. Intarsia is an ancient art form dating back to the 17th century. It is said to originate in Italy and includes many different media such as wood, glass, and ceramics. We have focused on wood and have chosen to use fine hardwoods such as Koa, Claro Walnut, Mahogany, Quilted and Curly Maples, as well as other exotic woods. Each piece of wood in every piece of intarsia is a separate piece selected for grain, hand shaped, and fitted to give the piece a three dimensional look. This is truly a craft that takes a lot of patience and skill.
